About Simons Town
Home to South Africa’s largest Naval Base and African Penguins, while perfectly situated on the shores of False Bay, the town was named after a governor of Cape Colonies, Simon van der Stel.
This modest, charming town has a population of fewer than 7000 inhabitants, yet they draw thousands of people to explore their town and learn about the favourable maritime history. In the centre of the town a statue dedicated to the dog, Just Nuisance, can be seen.
