Your Purpose:

The Brand & Content Lead is responsible for shaping Discover Africa Group’s brand perception, digital customer experience, and on-site conversions through exceptional storytelling, UX, and content-driven engagement. This role leads a multidisciplinary team (UX/UI, content, and creative) and blends brand strategy, consumer psychology, and UX-driven design to create emotionally compelling and high-converting customer experiences. You will work closely with other marketing team leads (Tech and Digital Acquisition), as well as the brand sales teams, to ensure brand consistency, digital excellence, and customer-centric decision-making.

Your Core Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and mentor a team of UX/UI designers, content strategists, and creatives, ensuring a high-performance, collaborative environment.
  • Define and drive brand, content, and digital experience strategy, aligning teams around a compelling vision. Lead discussions on brand differentiation and competitive positioning.

Brand & Content Leadership

  • Own brand storytelling and content strategy, ensuring messaging resonates across web, email, social, and paid media.
  • Oversee content creation, creative execution, and visual brand identity to drive engagement and trust.

Digital Experience & UX Leadership

  • Direct UX/UI strategy, guiding designers in crafting seamless, intuitive, and high-converting digital experiences.
  • Work with developers and product teams to refine website usability, conversion paths, and interactive brand experiences.

Conversion Optimisation

  • Own the first half of the sales cycle, optimising landing pages, customer journeys, and digital touchpoints to maximize engagement and conversion.
  • Leverage CRO tactics, A/B testing, and behavioral insights to continuously refine user experience and messaging.

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Use Google Analytics, Hotjar, and UX research to analyse content performance, identify friction points, and optimise engagement.
  • Develop segmentation strategies to personalise messaging and enhance customer experience.

Brand Trust & Reputation Management

  • Ensure brand consistency across all digital and customer touchpoints, from first interaction to post-sale engagement. This includes collaborative partnership with the sales and operations team of each brand.
  • Oversee reputation management, crisis response, and social media reviews to protect and enhance brand perception.

Customer Engagement & Advocacy

  • Support referral programs and word-of-mouth strategies to increase brand loyalty and repeat business.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • 10+ years of experience in brand strategy, content marketing, UX, product ownership, or customer experience, preferably in high-consideration or luxury markets.
  • Proven leadership experience, managing cross-functional teams (UX/UI, content, and creative) to drive high-impact brand and digital experiences.
  • Passion for African travel with a deep enthusiasm for the industry, and the ability to translate this excitement into compelling brand narratives.
  • Expertise in consumer behavioral psychology, particularly in how storytelling and UX shape customer decision-making.
  • Proven track record in content strategy, copywriting and visual storytelling to drive engagement.
  • Experience with CRO, A/B testing, UX research, and customer journey mapping to optimise conversion rates.
  • Strong collaboration skills, working cross-functionally with digital acquisition, tech/dev, and data teams, as well as the sales/operations teams of each brand.
  • Ability to craft high-converting brand messaging that adapts seamlessly across web, social, paid media, email, and other channels.
  • Strong analytical skills, leveraging Google Analytics, Hotjar, Optimizely, and other tools to measure content performance, UX effectiveness, and user engagement.
  • Experience in optimising customer touchpoints across digital platforms, ensuring a seamless, high-trust journey, from first interaction to conversion.
  • Proactive approach to brand reputation management, ensuring brand trust and mitigating risks across digital channels.
